Dr Ahmed Saeed Goolam
Ahmed is a passionate surgeon striving to provide exceptional and individualised care for all his patients. He is a consultant urological surgeon and specialises in the management of urologic cancers.
After completing his training in New South Wales, Ahmed completed a Fellowship in Robotic Surgery and Urologic Oncology at the University of Miami and Sylvester Cancer Care Centres in Miami, Florida, USA. His training included robotic surgery for prostate, bladder and kidney cancers as well as dealing with complex and locally advanced cancers. This training compliments his rigorous training in Endourology and general urology. Utilising contemporary technologies, patients have access to the most appropriate treatment for their urologic condition. Ahmed manages kidney stone disease and difficulties arising from an enlarged prostate with a variety of surgical approaches suited to individual patient’s requirements.
In providing excellent care, patients are managed within the multidisciplinary team setting. Patients benefit from being managed in team setting involving theatre, ward and clinic staff who are well trained and experienced in delivering specialised urologic care. Ahmed strives to provide the highest level of care on an individual basis whilst being involved on a broader level to promote comprehensive, efficient and effective healthcare for the community.
He is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and is involved in activities for doctors on the specialist training pathway. Ahmed continues to be involved in teaching, research and education by working in two teaching hospitals.
